AN AWESOME JOB TO HAVE August 28, 2007

This morning, keepers received a phone message from a dear friend of ours.  The message she left was simple and to the point.  It said MAGGIE, I GOT THE JOB AT THE BUTTERFLY HOUSE!!!!!!!!!  I WILL CALL YOU LATER.  After hearing our friend’s (who definitely is more like a sister to Maggie), keepers sat back and talked about how much our friend had wanted to be hired for the position at the Butterfly House near her.  Of course, we were absolutely thrilled for her in every way.  But, we also kind of sat in awe of our friend being so blessed as to spend her working hours each day in a glass building filled with all kinds of butterflies.   We can not imagine what an awesome experience this will be for her.

Like most people, keepers are very drawn to butterflies.  Each one seems like the most beautiful and fragile creature on this earth.  In flight, each one is so graceful and has a majestic quality that keepers can not put into words.  To us, it almost seems like a magical experience to be allowed the pleasure of working with these awesome creatures and making money while doing it.  To us, it would be a dream come true to have the opportunity to experience this type of thing.

Our friend got her job at a time when another of our friends has spent weeks working on the project of birthing butterflies.  Keepers have gotten to share in the caterpillars going into their cocoons and spending time attached to a branch while their amazing transformation takes place.  Thus far, only one of our friends cocoons has brought forth a beautiful butterfly but there are at least two more yet to come forth if all goes right.  Waiting for that IM which says KEEPERS LADY, WE HAVE A BUTTERFLY feels much like waiting for the birth of a baby–full of excitement and anticipation while feeling like each individual moment is taking much too long to pass.

The truth is that keepers have never been important enough to anyone for us to be the ones to receive a call or and IM when wonderful things are happening in the lives of those we care about.  For us, it is truly and incredible experience to get to be a part of our friend’s excitement over getting her dream job and to be a part of another friend birthing butterflies.  It brings tears to keeper’s eyes (good, happy tears) because it means so much to all of us to finally feel like we are worthy of sharing good news with people we see as very special.

Keepers believe that butterflies are somehow taking on a whole new meaning in our lives.  None of us has any idea why butterflies would take on a whole new importance to keepers at this time in our lives but we know that it is happening.  We can feel it each time we receive a phone call or IM about the butterfly experiences our dear friends are sharing with us.  We can also feel the difference each time we see a butterfly up close in our back yard or as we walk through the park.  Somehow, this has become the butterfly period for keepers.  We have no idea why that is but we know that it is true.

Keepers sit back and think what an awesome experience it is to birth butterflies and what an amazing experience it will be for our good friend to make her living working in the butterfly house from now on.  Our hearts are celebrating for both of these friends and keepers are so grateful that we were thought of as worthy to share these experiences in some way.

Cheers to the butterflies all over the world!!!!!!!!!!!!  Cheers to our friends who get to know those butterflies so intimately!!!!!!!!!

peace and blessings,

keepers
