From the musical, “Man of La Mancha”, the story of Don Quixote, comes Keeper’s favorite song of all time, “The Impossible Dream”. If you have never heard it we are sure some of the music sites have it available. Enjoy!
The Impossible Dream
To dream … the impossible dream …
To fight … the unbeatable foe …
To bear … with unbearable sorrow …
To run … where the brave dare not go …
To right … the unrightable wrong …
To love … pure and chaste from afar …
To try … when your arms are too weary …
To reach … the unreachable star …
This is my quest, to follow that star …
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far …
To fight for the right, without question or pause …
To be willing to march into Hell, for a Heavenly cause …
And I know if I’ll only be true, to this glorious quest,
That my heart will lie will lie peaceful and calm,
when I’m laid to my rest …
And the world will be better for this:
That one man, scorned and covered with scars,
Still strove, with his last ounce of courage,
To reach … the unreachable star …
lol Josie is disappointed you didnt add the line “we fight for the right to party” lol
lol she simply cant beleive that isnt in every song
I think of two words reading over that song. Strength and Perseverence. How wonderful it would be if I had even a third of it. Very inspiring song.
Meadow
I’m working on bearing “the unbearable sorrow” right now. I vaguely remember this song from so long ago. But, reading the lyrics now made me cry.
You have definitely helped inspire me to keep on keepin’ on. And I thank you so much for that, Keepers. I want you to know, I definitely think of you as one of the true thrivers!
Tell Josie when we incorporate The Impossible Dream as the official song for the Multiple of the World we will add that line!!!
Always
Keepers
Hi Meadow
We just love the song, it’s word inspire us and lift our souls, and our hopes and determination. Sometimes we have to listen to it several times in a row, to get the words inside, deeper and stronger, so they can lift us up.
Thank you for writing and may your evening be wonderful
Keepers
Dear Marj
We hope you do indeed bear your “unbearable sorrow” and move onward. We can only hope the tears were for your being touched in a positive manner, one that will help buoy you up in tough times, which is why we shared them with our friends here, because they help do that for us and we hoped they would do the same for others who need to hear some special words. If you hear the song sung, it is even easier to rerun it through your head and let the music and words invigorate you.
Peace and blessings
Keepers
